Our Commitment

ToolsCanvas is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone.

Standards We Follow

We aim to meet the following accessibility standards:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility
  • WAI-ARIA — Accessible Rich Internet Applications specifications for interactive components
  • Section 508 — U.S. federal accessibility requirements

Accessibility Features

  • Keyboard navigation support across all tools and interactive elements
  • Screen reader compatibility with semantic HTML and ARIA labels
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA requirements
  • Responsive design that works on all screen sizes and zoom levels
  • Alt text on meaningful images and icons
  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Form labels and error messages associated with their inputs
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second
  • Text resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Accessibility Widget

We provide a UserWay accessibility widget on every page, which gives you additional controls to customize your browsing experience. Look for the accessibility icon (usually in the bottom-left corner) to access features such as:
  • Font size adjustment
  • High contrast mode
  • Grayscale mode
  • Dyslexia-friendly font
  • Cursor size adjustment
  • Line height and letter spacing controls
  • Animation pause
  • Screen reader optimization

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some tools may have inherent limitations:

  • Canvas-based image tools (image converter, background remover) — visual output cannot be fully conveyed to screen readers, though we provide text descriptions of results where possible
  • Color picker tool — relies on visual color selection; we provide text-based color input as an alternative
  • Video conversion tools — progress indicators are visual; we include ARIA live regions to announce status changes
  • Drag-and-drop file upload — all file upload areas also support standard file selection via keyboard
