This tool uses stream copy (-c copy) when possible, meaning the video and audio data is not re-encoded. The output quality is identical to the original. Re-encoding only occurs when the format requires it.
MP4, MOV, and WebM files with H.264/AAC streams can usually be trimmed with stream copy. AVI and some other containers may require re-encoding, which takes longer but still produces good quality output.
